Striding Edge, Lake District, UK

The trip to Striding Edge was very productive for photography, as you can see from the galleries. After moving some way down the ridge, I turned around to take in the view behind me, and noticed the dramatic profile and light on the ridge I had crossed. I composed to fill the view with the ridge, and took a low/wide perspective to accentuate the effect. I decided to leave the footprint in the foreground as I believe it conveys what it is like to be on the ridge, and doesn’t distract from the image overall.
