The peaks of Scafell Pike and Great End, bathed in early morning light. This image was taken in Great Moss, using the River Esk as a foreground in the composition.
I previsualised this image for sometime: I wanted to create a contrast between the warm light on the mountain with the cold blue light of the river. To do this, I had to arrive
sufficiently early to catch the early morning light on the peaks, but before the sun had risen sufficiently to light Great Moss itself.
The final effect may look filtered but, while ND grads were used to balance the exposure between the mountain and the river, no filters were used to affect the colour of the shot.
