Wastwater, Lake District, UK

Wasdale lays claim to England’s highest mountain (Scafell Pike), the deepest lake (Wastwater) and the biggest liar (the name escapes me!). It is a dramatic valley with superb views, and it provides access to mountains like Scafell Pike, Scafell, Great Gable and Pillar. This is a shot of Wastwater taken from Yewbarrow. I think the inclusion of the lone hillwalker adds something to this image and gives a feeling of space and scale.
