This image was taken at the end of a summer afternoon that was spent on Ben More. I noticed the improving light as I descended the mountain, and I took the shot yards away from my parked car.
The shore consisted of mussel shells that cracked underfoot as I walked around, looking for a suitable composition. Nearby, a lone otter could be seen fishing in the shallows of the loch.
Eventually, I noticed the reflections of the mountains in the calmer sections of the loch and composed the shot minutes before the sun sank below the horizon.
