This is Alfred Wainright’s favourite fell. After he died, his ashes were scattered on the summit. It’s easy to see why he loved it so much. The ascent is an interesting, but easy, rocky
scramble, and the summit is a jumble of rocks and pools. There are views to Ennerdale (seen here), Buttermere and Great Gable. This image was taken mid-morning, and this viewpoint was 90 degrees to the sun, so I used a
polarising filter to boost the saturation of the image.
